The Artists: William Watson-West

William Watson-West has now been painting professionally for over a decade. Having spent most of his life based in Yorkshire, he now works from his North London studio where he continues to produce evocative and intriguing paintings.

Increasingly influenced by memories, nostalgia, love and loss, William works predominantly in acrylic to create bold, colourful still lifes and abstract pieces underpinned by a foundation of direct observation.

Graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2011 with a BA in Printed Textiles, William has exhibited extensively in the North of England. Previously shortlisted for the New Light Art Prize, his work is held in various private collections both in the UK and internationally.
