The Artists: Camilla Clutterbuck
Camilla studied Graphic Design at art college and then had a change of direction and worked in Theatre as a Stage Manager in the West End for eighteen years.
In 2002 she started painting full time and had her first exhibition with artist Sophie Thompson at Notting Hill Fine Art Gallery. Since then she has exhibited at the Patchings Art Festival (awarded a St Cuthbert’s prize by Artist magazine); North Lincolnshire Open Print Exhibition (awarded a prize sponsored by Intaglio); exhibited/demonstrated at the Childwickbury Arts Fair; at The Mall Galleries with The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, The Society of Wildlife Artists and The Royal Society of British Artists; The Royal Academy Summer Show and The Jonathan Cooper Gallery.
’’I am and always have been drawn to the natural world; the delicacy and strength of it. I learnt to paint in watercolour at a very early age in my mother’s studio. She was a watercolourist and mixed media artist, and I enjoy working with watercolour for the same reason as I enjoy the natural world - for the delicacy and strength of it’’.
